The ship sweeping group of the formation of the protection of the water area of the Troops and Forces in the North-East of Russia (OKVS), together with military engineers and a detachment to combat sabotage forces and means (PDSS), conducted a planned exercise to neutralize bottom mines in Avacha Bay.

According to the legend of the exercise, the enemy set up a minefield in the navigable area near the basing point of ships and vessels of the OKVS. The anti-sabotage boat of the Grachonok project carried out a reconnaissance search for mines with the help of technical means and found one of them in the main fairway. PDSS specialists examined the dangerous find and assessed its condition.

On alarm, the ship’s sweeping group consisting of sea minesweepers MT-264 and MT-265 left the basing point and deployed bottom trawls in the area of the mock enemy’s mines. A section of the water area of the Malaya Lagernaya Bay was pierced by two ships. Then, with the help of high-speed boats BL-680, the ends were brought ashore and heavy engineering equipment chose a mine trawl to the coastline.

The crews of three warships and three high-speed boats, engineering vehicles IMR and BTS-4, as well as a shift on duty at the dispatching service of the raid post were involved in the exercise.
