Anyone can join the video lecture hall. The meeting will be held remotely and will be broadcast on the Presidential Library portal.

During the lecture, the director of the cultural institution “Battle of the Ice Museum. Samolva ”Vladimir Potresov will tell about the history of one of the most important battles that took place on April 5, 1242 and made Alexander Nevsky famous. The participants of the video lecture will learn about the history of this place and the uniqueness of the church, which contains a particle of the relics of the great commander, from the speech of Larisa Yurevichiene, an employee of the department for the canonization of saints and the study of the history of the Tikhvin diocese.

Little-known facts about the creation of Sergei Eisenstein’s film “Alexander Nevsky” will be shared by the director of the Institute of History and Social Sciences of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Herzen Roman Sokolov. The historical feature film, released in 1938 and telling about the struggle of the Russian people led by Alexander Nevsky against the Teutonic Order, is considered one of the masterpieces of Soviet cinema. Participants of the video lecture will learn about the features of the film, the truth and fiction in its plot.

The event will be attended by representatives of the St. Petersburg charitable public organization “Pilgrim” Irina Yakusheva and Maria Belskaya, who will talk about the festival “Living Memory.
