The personnel, special and military equipment of the railway connection of the Central Military District (CVD) have begun redeployment from Udmurtia to the Amur Region for the construction of the second branch of the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM).

The solemn departure ceremony took place at the Kambarka railway station in the Republic of Udmurtia. Military railroad workers loaded the property and more than 30 units of logistic, engineering and special railway equipment onto the platforms and began to march. Military specialists, crane operators, excavators, bulldozers and copiers, will travel more than 6,000 kilometers as part of an echelon. Upon arrival at the site of construction of a section of the second BAM branch to Tungala station, military railway workers will unload the train and prepare sites for placing equipment, property and personnel. Before being sent to the Amur Region, the servicemen underwent a medical examination and vaccination against coronavirus at the point of permanent deployment.

Specialists of the railway troops of the Central Military District will build 183 kilometers out of the planned 340 kilometers of the second branch of the Baikal-Amur Mainline. About 750 servicemen and more than 400 units of military and special equipment will be involved in the work.

Servicemen of three railway brigades of the military district will be involved in the construction of a section of the second line from the Miroshnichenko railway junction to the Fevralsk station. For personnel accommodation, three modular towns will be deployed at the stations Drogoshevsk, Dugda and Tungala.
