The first joint training of the parade crews and the mechanized column of the garrison troops took place on the 1905 square in Yekaterinburg.

During the training in the main square of the Ural capital, about 20 parade units marched in a ceremonial formation: the calculations of the headquarters and the aviation association of the Central Military District, boxes of servicemen of motorized rifle, railway formations and the only parade crew of the military police beyond the Urals. Also, employees of the Federal Execution and Punishment Service, cadets of the Ural Institute of State Fire Service marched along the main square of the Ural capital. During the musical accompaniment of the training, the combined orchestra of the Yekaterinburg garrison performed about 30 counter and parade marches.

During the first joint training in the main square of the Ural capital, a column of modern and historical military equipment, numbering more than 100 samples, marched in parade formation. The parade mechanized column was headed by the legendary T-34 tank. Also, historical equipment was represented by armored vehicles BA-64, armored personnel carriers BTR-152, BTR-40, front-line GAZ AA “lorry”, military motorcycles MV-650.

Each group of mechanized parade crew, with the exception of the historic column, was headed by the armored car “Tiger”. Complexes of signal troops, air defense, electronic warfare, radio-technical troops, engineering-sapper units and fuel service drove along the paving stones of the 1905 Square. Parade groups of artillery and missile forces were represented by Msta-S self-propelled artillery mounts, Iskander-M operational-tactical missile systems and MT-12 Rapier towed anti-tank guns, as well as BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket systems.

Among the novelties in service with the formations and military units of the Central Military District, for the first time were shown the BMPT-2 Terminator tank support combat vehicles, the Buk-M3 medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems and the P230T armored complex communications hardware based on the Tiger armored vehicles.

As the commander of the Central Military District, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, said earlier, three parades will be held on the territory of the Central Military District on May 9 – in Yekaterinburg, Samara and Novosibirsk.

In total, about 2.5 thousand people will be involved in the military parade in Yekaterinburg, including about 1.5 thousand from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, about 130 units of military equipment and over 10 aircraft.
