The men’s team of the S.M. Kirov took the third place at the VI International Olympiad for computer science cadets in the absolute team championship in the category of teams with general training.
The Olympics were held on the basis of the Military Academy of Communications named after Marshal of the Soviet Union S.M. Budyonny and was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Teams of higher military educational institutions of Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took part in it.
The main prize of the Olympiad – the Cup of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation – Chairman of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS member states was won by the team of the Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy. Colonel-General Viktor Goremykin, Head of the Main Personnel Directorate of the Russian Defense Ministry, presented the cup to the winning team.
He noted that all the participants of the Olympiad demonstrated their best volitional qualities, erudition, knowledge of the subject and a great desire to win.
“I am sure that among the participants of our Olympiad there are future specialists in the development and application of new robotic systems, systems based on artificial intelligence, and other most advanced products in science. With your successes and excellent results, you have once again confirmed the high status and quality of military education, ”said Colonel-General Viktor Goremykin.
In a difficult struggle with specialized military educational institutions, the men’s team of the Military Medical Academy, headed by its captain, 4th year student of the 2nd faculty Dmitry Bolgarev, won bronze medals in the absolute team championship in the category of teams with general training. The men’s combined team also included a 3rd year cadet of the 2nd faculty Adam Lubin and a 2nd year cadet of the 2nd faculty Andrei Zavarukin.
Also, the national team of the Olympiad team in computer science in 2021 included female cadets of the 4th faculty Renata Kalamova (3 course), Polina Kozlova (2 course), Alena Stolyarova (1 course). The head of the team is a teacher of the Department of Organization and Tactics of Medical Service, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Dmitry Borisov.
For the third place, the male team was awarded diplomas, medals and a valuable gift – a quadrocopter.
Awards to the winners and prize-winners in the absolute individual championship among teams with general training were presented by the head of the Military Medical Academy, Major General of the Medical Service Yevgeny Kryukov and the head of the Military Institute of Physical Culture, Major General Oleg Botsman.
The participants and guests of the Olympiad were congratulated by artists of the Central House of the Russian Army named after M.V. Frunze.
