On April 28, as part of a working trip to Yakutsk (Yakutia), the head of the EMERCOM of Russia Yevgeny Zinichev solemnly opened a new specialized fire and rescue unit for extinguishing large fires on the territory of the subject. The head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolaev took part in the event timed to coincide with the Day of the Fire Protection of Russia.
The minister inspected the premises of the unit and the equipment in service with the fire service. According to E. Zinichev, in addition to fulfilling the main task of ensuring the fire safety of the city of Yakutsk, the entire territory of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is in the zone of responsibility of the SRSU, which significantly increases the protection of its territories.
“The new fire station is staffed with highly qualified specialists, equipped with modern technology and equipment, and is capable of performing tasks, including in a long separation from the point of permanent deployment,” said the head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
To perform tasks as intended, the fire department includes 102 personnel and 21 units of special-purpose equipment. The opening of a new fire station will increase the responsiveness to possible emergencies and emergencies, as well as generally strengthen the RSChS subsystem of the region.
The new building of the fire and rescue station meets all modern requirements. It includes a fire station for 4 combat exits (14 exits in total), heated boxes, a control room, a training room, auxiliary rooms for servicing equipment and storing equipment, a recreation room and a meal. Everything is provided for the firefighters to be comfortable on duty and to fulfill their duties promptly. For combat and sports training of personnel, a heat-smoke chamber, a training complex, a sports ground, and a training fire tower were erected on the territory of the SRSU.
During the event, the Minister awarded the departmental medals “XXX Years of the EMERCOM of Russia” to the distinguished employees of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), and also presented the divisions with certificates for 5 units of equipment.
