Everyone is invited to visit the exhibition“Reserve Karadag”… She talks about the flora and fauna of the Karadag reserve, as well as the scientific biological station named after T.I. Vyazemsky. The reserve is located on the southeastern coast of Crimea, 36 kilometers from Feodosia in the Karadag mountain range. The name “Karadag” is translated as “black mountain” (from Turkic). Everything here is unique – from fantastic landscapes, rich mineral resources, flora and fauna to historical and cultural monuments. The picturesque landscapes of Karadag inspired writers and artists, including Maximilian Voloshin, Alexander Grin and Ivan Aivazovsky.

Visitors will learn about the birds, animals and insects that inhabit the reserve. The showcase also recreates the steppe vegetation and presents marine life.

Separately prepared algae herbarium. In the water area of ​​the Karadag reserve, 178 species of macrophyte algae (large algae) grow – this is 54.8 percent of the flora of the Black Sea. Of these, 43 are green, 45 are brown and 90 are red. The main part is concentrated on rocks and rocks in the upper 10-meter layer.

The exhibition also includes the skull of a common dolphin, shells of mollusks and even a stuffed katran. In addition, the exhibition features watercolors by the curator and research assistant of the museum, Polina Konkova.
