The Museum and Memorial Complex “History of the T-34 Tank” will hold an online exhibition“Invasion”dedicated to the events of the first days of the Great Patriotic War.

Almost 80 years ago, on June 22, 1941, Nazi Germany violated the Soviet-German non-aggression pact: German troops invaded the territory of the USSR without declaring war. The most difficult and most cruel of all wars experienced by our homeland began.

The development of a detailed plan for the attack on our country began in July 1940. The final version, the Barbarossa Plan, was approved on December 18, 1940. Germany counted on waging a lightning war – a blitzkrieg. German strategists planned to end the war by the fall of 1941. They hoped to quickly seize the most important industrial and political centers and annex the entire European part of the USSR to Germany.

In the center of the exhibition are similar items of equipment and weapons of the Red Army and the Wehrmacht. Viewers will be able to compare them and analyze the level of equipment of the enemy armies, as well as the readiness of the industry of the USSR and Germany to provide their troops.
