The Museum of Russian Lubok and Naive Art invites you to the exhibition“Lubok is ok”Dedicated to the dialogue between Russia and China.

Lubok is an ancient form of folk art, graphic images created using the engraving technique. These bright, colorful printed sheets have been on sale at fairs since the late 17th century and are very popular. However, few people know that this art originated in China.

How is the folklore of Russia and China similar and different, how has progress influenced the plots and themes of popular prints in Russian and Chinese cultures?

The exhibition was prepared in cooperation withMuseum of Traditional Art of the Nations of the World.
