The combat crews of the radio-technical troops of the Leningrad Army of the Air Force and the air defense of the Western Military District (ZVO) have begun redeploying to the Astrakhan region to participate in the all-army stage of the field training competition “Air Frontiers-2021”. Servicemen as part of the echelon will march by rail to the center of combat training and combat use of the Aerospace Forces, covering a distance of more than 2000 km.

The competitive program of the competition includes standards for folding equipment, forming an automobile convoy, marching to a specified area, repelling an attack by sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRG) of a conventional enemy, overcoming infected areas of the terrain.

In addition, the participants of the competition will have to perform practical shooting from standard weapons, standards for its assembly and disassembly, as well as throwing grenades. The main element of the competition is the conduct of radar reconnaissance with the processing and transmission of information to higher command posts.

The best teams will be determined in three nominations: a platoon as part of the Kasta radar and the Fundament automation complex, the best calculation of the Plyot radar, and the best calculation of the Sky-M radar.

In total, 19 teams from the Air Force and Air Defense formations, formations and military units directly subordinate to the Civil Command of the Aerospace Forces, as well as the Yaroslavl Higher Military School of Air Defense – more than 250 people will take part in the competition.
