Spectacle based on a play by the contemporary English playwright Christopher Hampton, based on the epistolary novel by Choderlos de Laclos in 1782.
Spectators will touch the life of the French aristocracy, filled with intrigue.
The main characters – the insidious seducer Viscount de Valmont and his former mistress, the beautiful Marquis de Merteil – start a cruel game of corrupting innocent souls. Their victims are the young aristocrat Cecile, who lived in the monastery, and the God-fearing faithful wife Madame de Tourvelle.
Stage director Pavel Chomsky believes that we live in a time when moral and ethical attitudes are devalued. Light and high feelings, which have inspired artists, poets and musicians for centuries, often become an object of purchase and sale.
The characters of the play are involved in a mercenary game, for participation in which some have to pay with their lives. Insight sometimes comes too late.
