The Roman Viktyuk Theater will show a performance“Phaedra”.

The classic antique story about Phaedra’s tragic passion for his stepson Ippolit was retold by Marina Tsvetaeva, whom Roman Viktyuk called the first and only great poetess and whose work accompanied the master throughout his life.

As in ancient Greek theater, the viewer’s attention is focused not on external effects, but on the heroes played by men. The figures of the actors are similar to Michelangelo’s frescoes, and the chorus becomes part of the legend.

The performance is staged in the spirit of a fictional mythological studio theater. According to the director, “Phaedra” is a half-dance, half-dance, half-gymnastics, half-erotic, conceived as a background and source of tragic events.
