As part of the delivery of the course task L-3, the crew of the diesel-electric submarine (diesel-electric submarine) “Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky” of project 636.3 performed torpedo firing with practical ammunition from a submerged position in the Baltic Sea.
The submarine’s crew successfully completed the assigned tasks and fired a torpedo weapon from a submerged position at a conditional sea target, which was simulated by the small anti-submarine ship of the Baltic Fleet “Aleksin” at an admissible safe distance.
The firing was carried out with practical torpedoes. After the completion of the measures, all torpedoes were lifted out of the water by a torpedo boat. The effectiveness of the use of torpedo weapons by the crew of the submarine will be assessed after receiving data on the guidance of torpedoes in the laboratory.
Torpedo firing is an obligatory element of the combat training of submariners and is carried out in accordance with the approved plan.
The execution of diesel-electric submarines “Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky” elements of the course task L-3 at sea is provided by the crews of warships, rescue ships and naval aviation of the Baltic Fleet
B-274 “Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky” – Russian diesel-electric submarine of project 636.3 “Varshavyanka”. The 636.3 series of submarines differs significantly from the previous “Varshavyanka” and has an updated inertial navigation system, the latest BIUS and modern missile and torpedo armament.
The diesel-electric submarines of this project are designed to combat surface ships and submarines, lay minefields, and conduct reconnaissance. One of the main advantages of these submarines is their low noise level.
