On April 28, about 80 representatives of the military-diplomatic corps from 52 countries of the CIS, Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America, accredited in Russia, visited the Ashuluk training ground of the Center for Combat Training and Combat Use of the Aerospace Forces in the Astrakhan Region, where officers of foreign states were shown combat the capabilities of the S-400 Triumph long-range anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as the Pantsir-S short-range anti-aircraft missile and cannon systems for the detection and destruction of training air targets.

During the drawing of a tactical episode, consisting of three stages, the foreign military attaches were shown the peculiarities of organizing air defense to repel a missile and air strike of a simulated enemy. The combat crews of the S-400 air defense missile system and the Pantsir-S air defense missile system detected and destroyed all target missiles imitating aerodynamic, operational-tactical, tactical ballistic targets, cruise missiles, and ground targets.

The day before, within the framework of the event in the city of Astrakhan, a briefing was held, during which the head of the BP and BP Center, Major General Aleksey Rotko, told the foreign military attaché about the specifics of the Center’s activities. Colonel Alexei Litvinov, a representative of the Yaroslavl Higher Military School of Air Defense, acquainted the military attachés of foreign countries with the specifics and possibilities of training foreign servicemen in the specialties of air defense in the Yaroslavl Air Defense Forces.

In addition to the official program, the military attaches of foreign countries were introduced to the sights of the Astrakhan Kremlin and other cultural and historical sites in the city of Astrakhan.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation regularly invites representatives of the military-diplomatic corps of foreign states to various events.

In 2020, foreign military diplomats attended over 20 events. The largest of them are the International Army Games-2020, the Army-2020 Military-Technical Forum, the final stage of the Kavkaz-2020 strategic command-staff exercise, a briefing by the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, General of the Army Valery Gerasimov.

The event is planned, and is carried out with the aim of increasing the transparency of the activities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
