Classes on the prevention of corruption crimes with representatives of the Military Commissariat of the city of Birobidzhan and the Birobidzhan region in the Jewish Autonomous Region were held in the Investigation facility No. 1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Jewish Autonomous Region. The event, held by the employees of SIZO-1, consisted of two parts: lectures and excursions around the restricted area.
During the lecture part, the principles of combating corruption, the causes and forms of its manifestation, preventive measures were considered. Then the listeners were introduced to the activities of the penitentiary institution. Accompanied by employees of the region’s penal system, the guests visited the administrative building.
Through the transitional galleries that connect all the buildings of the institution, we moved to the prefabricated investigation department, where there are premises for short-term visits in the form of meeting booths, rooms for long visits. Visitors could see the equipment of the cells, learn about the food standards for suspects and defendants, the daily routine, as well as about the conditions of service in Detention Center No. 1.
“We have held such an event for the first time,” said Stanislav Mityaev, head of the Investigative Detention Center No. 1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Jewish Autonomous Region. – The military commissar for the city of Birobidzhan and the Birobidzhan region came up with a proposal to organize interaction in this direction, to which we willingly agreed, since the prevention of corruption is a common cause.
Along the way, we talked about the conditions of detention of suspects and accused, showed that despite modern standards, places of detention, where they go, including for committing corruption crimes, are not attractive. The guests expressed a genuine interest in the functioning of the institution, and the staff, in turn, tried to answer all the questions that arose during the excursion. “
