On April 29, within the framework of a working visit to the northern capital, the head of the EMERCOM of Russia Evgeny Zinichev together with the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov arrived at the All-Russian Center for Emergency and Radiation Medicine named after A.M. At the Serafimovskoye cemetery, the head of the department laid flowers on the grave of the fire fighter Ilya Beletsky, who died heroically in a fire in the Nevsky District. He also visited the memorial “For the sake of life on earth”, where he honored with a minute of silence the memory of all firefighters who died in the line of duty. This monument appeared at the Serafimovskoye cemetery two years after the tragedy at the Leningrad Hotel.

On April 12, a fire broke out in an industrial and warehouse building on Oktyabrskaya embankment, owned by JSC “Nevskaya Manufaktura”. The total area of ​​the fire was 10 thousand square meters. meters, the collapse of the roof and interfloor floors – on an area of ​​1.5 thousand square meters. meters. To extinguish the fire, 19 combat sites were created. In total, 358 personnel and 73 pieces of equipment were involved in the elimination of the fire. The aviation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia and the Ministry of Defense was involved, which made 49 water discharges with a total volume of more than 240 tons.

The work of the fire and rescue units was complicated by the weather. Due to the strong wind, constantly changing its direction, the fire spread to a nearby hostel. 50 hostel guests were successfully evacuated.

Almost ten hours later, the fire was localized, and only five days later it was completely extinguished.

The city government decided to hand over the keys and certificates of ownership of apartments in the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg to the injured firefighters.
