Ballet theater of classical choreography presents ballet“Giselle”… It will be shown on the stage of the Mosconcert Hall.

Giselle is one of the most mysterious and romantic ballets in the world repertoire. The acclaimed masterpiece of choreography, half of which takes place in a cemetery, has been popular with audiences all over the world for almost 180 years.

The music was composed by the French composer Adolphe Adam. The libretto was written by prose writers Théophile Gaultier and Jules-Henri de Saint-Georges. Choreography was choreographed by Jean Coralli, Jules Perrot and Marius Petipa. At the Mosconcert Hall the performance will be shown in the choreographic version of Mikhail Lavrovsky.

The premiere of Giselle took place in 1841 in Paris. A year later, it was shown in St. Petersburg, a little later – in Moscow. Since then, the ballet has never left the Russian stage for a long time, and the main role has graced the repertoire of almost all the leading ballerinas of the Bolshoi Theater. It was danced by Marina Semenova, Galina Ulanova, Marina Kondratyeva, Ekaterina Maksimova, Natalia Bessmertnova and Lyudmila Semenyaka.

On the stage of the Mosconcert Hall concert hall, Swan Lake will be presented by the Moscow State Ballet Theater of Classical Choreography La Classique.

Their repertoire includes such productions as The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadère, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, Don Quixote, Paquita, Walpurgis Night.

The troupe is headed by the Honorary Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Elik Melikov.
