In Russia, over the past five years, 28 new military centers have been created for specialized training of students, said State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Nikolai Pankov, speaking at the All-Russian scientific and practical conference on topical issues of interaction between the military department and civil higher education.
“Over the past five years, 28 new military training centers have been created, including 12 in the regions of Siberia, the Far East and the North,” said Nikolai Pankov.
Unified structural units – military training centers were formed in 2017-2019 on the basis of military departments, military training faculties and military training centers. All military training programs are implemented in them: reserve officers and personnel, soldiers, sailors, sergeants and reserve foremen.
Another innovation the state secretary – deputy defense minister called the organization of interuniversity military training.
“Students of universities that do not have military training units can study at the military training centers of nearby educational organizations or military educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense,” Nikolai Pankov said.
He noted that the domestic system of military training for civilian higher education has been an important element of personnel and mobilization support for the military organization of Russia for 95 years.
“Similar training is being conducted by many countries around the world, but the Russian military training system is rightfully considered the best. It is developing dynamically. Only in recent years there have been significant changes in its organization and activities, ”added the Deputy Minister of Defense.
Nikolay Pankov, in particular, recalled that a new type of military training has been organized – training of soldiers, sailors, sergeants and reserve foremen. A new mechanism was developed that allows students to be given military training without subsequently being called up for military service.
