Thanks to this, new types of content and services will appear in the Moscow Electronic School.

The issues of long-term cooperation of the “Moscow Electronic School” (“MES”) with suppliers of digital educational content were discussed at a meeting that took place in the city educational institution “Temocenter”.

“The Moscow Electronic School is probably the largest electronic educational platform not only in Russia, but also in many countries of the world. It covers two million students, teachers, parents and, in fact, is generally available both in Russia and around the world, “he said at the meeting.

Sergei Sobyanin.

According to him, MES has come a long way in its development. This work began with the creation of a digital service for enrolling a child in school, which greatly simplified the life of the townspeople.

For the transition to long-term cooperation with producers of digital educational content in 2020–2021, the Moscow Government has modernized and expanded the MES library. In the project, a thematic framework was created, including about a thousand topics for study in primary, secondary and secondary schools. It brings together the main tools of the Moscow Electronic School: thematic planning, tests, digital homework, and library materials.

“The last year we have devoted to systematizing these processes, to break educational materials by lessons and topics. In the future, we will add educational content: textbooks, individual manuals, and so on, so that it is convenient for teachers and students, ”said the Moscow Mayor.

Thanks to the use of a thematic framework, the teacher no longer needs to write the topics of the lesson by hand, it is enough just to select them from the list. For each lesson, topic-related educational materials are automatically provided for you to study in class. They can also be offered as homework, then they will automatically be added to students’ electronic diaries.

“What is the most unpleasant or difficult for a student? This is our system of homework: sitting alone for hours and poring over completing them. What is the most pleasant thing? Probably, for a modern child, these are electronic games that he can play with pleasure for hours. Here’s how to combine the pleasure of playing with the learning process – this is the task that, I think, you can solve, and we will be happy to cooperate with you, ”added Sergei Sobyanin.

He also noted that cooperation with the Prosveshchenie publishing house, the Yandex company and the platform has already been established.

“We decided to make our platform exclusively state-owned, so that we could fully manage and administer it, but to load commercial services – those that have already received consumer recognition,” said the Mayor of Moscow.

From 2021, the Moscow Government will begin to provide grants for the supply of professional educational content that will be integrated into the MES thematic framework. Thanks to this, new types of content and services will appear in the Moscow Electronic School: projects and research tasks, virtual laboratories and workshops, functional literacy simulators, educational materials for children with disabilities, and much more. The next step in cooperation will be training, consulting and support of teachers on the implementation and use of updated content and educational services.

Nearly two million materials

MES is the largest electronic educational platform in Russia with educational and methodological content and wide opportunities for users. Its key features are a new generation electronic diary (used by over two million teachers, students and parents) and a library of electronic materials.

The MES library is formed by teachers themselves, uploading their own electronic lesson scripts and other teaching materials. Since March 2019, it has been available to users from anywhere in the world around the clock. The library currently contains nearly two million materials, including lesson scripts, quizzes, e-tutorials, and interactive applications.

More than 54 thousand scripts of lessons, over 10 thousand video lessons, more than 2350 electronic teaching aids, 348 textbooks, over 141 thousand educational interactive applications, 12 unique laboratories and 245 works of fiction are available in the open access.

The Moscow government has created a special system for motivating teachers. For work with MES, teachers receive a monthly city allowance in the amount of 10 thousand rubles, and the authors of the most popular electronic educational materials receive special grants. In 2020, the Moscow Government provided 1,647 grants worth 98 million rubles. They were received by content developers and 641 teachers.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, MES became one of the most popular digital platforms and services that provide distance and e-learning in all subjects for grades 1-11.

Thus, new services have appeared in the Moscow Electronic School: a thematic framework, a constructor of lessons and electronic textbooks, a video-conferencing service, and new content of the MES library. In 2021, the project continued to develop.

New educational projects

“Digital Tutor”

Additional online classes using the MES video conference call are provided by teachers free of charge in mini-groups of three to five people. Digital tutors help students improve their knowledge of Russian and English, algebra and geometry, physics and chemistry. You can choose up to two subjects, lessons are included in the student’s electronic timetable.

The project is addressed to children who find themselves in a difficult life situation and have gaps in knowledge in certain subjects. Today, 76 teachers are involved in the project, helping 415 students from 114 schools.

Digital homework

The interface of the homework section has become more user-friendly. For students, these tasks are displayed in the corresponding section of the electronic diary. Students and parents can see the subject, the date of the check, the attached materials, as well as the status of the tests and test tasks: “did not start”, “completed”, “checked”. In the section “Homework” children can also get acquainted with the results of passing the tests (the number of attempts is unlimited).

When creating a digital homework assignment, the teacher can attach materials to it directly from the MES magazine, as well as adjust the homework parameters – set the time for completion and the list of students to whom it is intended. The assignment review date is set automatically in accordance with the next lesson on the schedule, or the teacher can change it at his discretion.

“For parents about the most important thing”

The project now includes a guide for parents on the most interesting materials and useful services of the MES library. It features a selection of news about the world of education and expert advice on child development and parenting. A poster of basic and additional activities will help to make family leisure richer.

School staff support and counseling services assist administrators to ensure the reliable operation of MES services at the school level. In the first three months of 2021, more than 15 thousand requests were processed here. Several webinars on working with the electronic magazine and the Moscow Electronic School were held, dozens of informational and methodological materials were posted on the MES support portal.

The integration of students’ medical records and an electronic journal made it possible to abandon paper certificates of illness. Information about the absence of the child due to illness after contacting the clinic is automatically transferred to the school, noted in the electronic journal and displayed in the electronic diary of the student and parent.

Companies – recipients of grants

Among the companies that received grants for the development of professional content for the Moscow Electronic School is Mobile Electronic Education (MEO). The company develops and supplies digital projects for educational organizations. Among them are the initiative of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives “Personnel of the Future for the Regions”, the digital school “BIT”, “Kindergartens of Russia”, “Schools of Russia”, “Colleges of Russia”, “Gifted Children”, “Children with Disabilities”, Internet shop “Trajectory of knowledge”, “We teach & Know”. The amount of the grant issued for the integration of content for pupils of the first and third grades with children with disabilities is 60 million rubles.

Alexander Kondakov, General Director of Mobile Electronic Education, presented how tasks on the MES platform can solve problems that arise in inclusive classes where children with different levels of development study.

“Firstly, it is much cheaper and more efficient than a paper textbook, and secondly, the family is actively involved in the educational process. Neither the child nor his parents need to contact the teacher with questions: all the necessary materials are in their personal account. There is a unique tool – a task assignment matrix. The corresponding types of nosologies are marked with digital indicators, and the teacher has the opportunity to give each child an individual task, ”he said.

Another recipient company is Fizikon. It is a developer of electronic educational resources for schools, colleges and universities, an educational online platform “Cloud of Knowledge”.

“We handed over to the Moscow Electronic School about six thousand legal resources – materials on physics, mathematics, Russian language, computer science – in almost all subjects of primary and secondary schools,” said Denis Mamontov, General Director of Fizikon LLC.

Among the projects of the company are “Digital Suburbs: digital content for DSP”, “Digital Suburbs: the application“ Trainer for PISA Preparation ”, development of an instrumental platform for conducting VR and AR courses (virtual and augmented reality) for Neuronet Of the National Technology Initiative, scaling of the Knowledge Cloud service within the framework of the Socium-CT program, development of technical documentation for electronic educational materials, an electronic diary and a magazine for the MES. The amount of the grant for the integration of content to prepare for the Unified State Exam and Olympiads is 97 million rubles.

The Algorithmika company, an international school of mathematics and programming for children from six to 17 years old with a focus on developing skills of the 21st century (critical thinking, teamwork, communication, creativity), also received a grant. Among the projects – “IT class in a Moscow school”, free access to educational resources during a pandemic for the project “Vse.Online. Digital Resistance COVID-19 “. With a grant of 90.5 million rubles, the company will develop computer science courses for the fifth – seventh grades.

“MESh has approached us with a request to optimize computer science courses for fifth to seventh grades. We not only successfully completed this task, but also included elements in the course that develop not only knowledge of computer science, but also those skills that children will need in a constantly changing world. This is communication, and project work, and creativity, and a whole set of skills, “said Pavel Shklyudov, executive director of Algorithmika LLC.

Teachers tend to spend most of their time preparing for the lesson and making visuals, he said. “We have developed 108 lessons and created presentation materials – now the teacher does not need to do anything. This is 30-50 slides for each lesson. We have developed thorough guidelines for how to conduct each lesson. Moreover, we have created auxiliary videos that will help the teacher very quickly repeat all the material before the lesson and pay attention to difficult moments, ”explained Pavel Shklyudov.

GlobalLab develops an online environment for conducting joint research projects. Its projects are built on the principles of civil science – a special type of crowdsourcing, which assumes that a small contribution of each participant forms a common new knowledge. Each participant does a little research or experiment on a topic. The results are collected and presented in the form of infographics. Any user of the platform can create his own project and invite participants from all over the world to it. The GlobalLab concept has been successfully tested in four thousand schools in 30 countries.

“We have created a set of projects (there are over 600 of them), which we will submit to MES, in all subjects from the first to the eighth grade. And a teacher who does not understand how to solve this problem can take any project, include it in his lesson and use it to implement an individual project, ”said Tatiana Krupa, President of GlobalLab LLC.

The projects include 57 packages of design and research assignments for pupils of the first to eighth grades in 16 subjects (a total of one thousand design assignments), preparation for international research, implementation of project activities in accordance with federal state educational standards.

The company received grants in the amount of 204.7 million rubles for design assignments and 65.3 million rubles for the integration of a designer of design and research assignments for students.

In addition, 01mathematica is among the recipients of grants. She is developing an online learning system for mathematics, a set of tasks in mathematics and geometry with an adaptive system based on artificial intelligence. The system is designed for both individual work (child or child and parent) and for classes and schools.

Alexey Zaitsev, CEO of the company, said that the online system was developed in accordance with federal textbooks. According to him, she is a kind of assistant for the teacher and assistant for schoolchildren. To make the learning process visual and technological, it is possible to use 3D models and interactive graphics.

In addition, the system is able to analyze the preparation of the student – it identifies gaps in his knowledge, analyzes this data and selects the approach to learning, thanks to which the child will be able to understand the topic. The system also allows you to accurately determine how much time it takes to complete homework.

“The system provides complete statistics on the child’s studies: when he sat down, what he did, at what time, what mistakes he made, how many attempts were made and what specific answers were. All this is being analyzed, ”said Alexey Zaitsev.

The online system contains more than 35 thousand problems with detailed solutions and three thousand videos with explanations. Over 154 thousand users are registered there. During the pandemic, 460 schools from different regions of Russia were connected to the system for free. The amount of the grant for the integration of a set of tasks in mathematics and geometry for this company amounted to 50 million rubles.
