Servicemen of the 4th Russian military base of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District (YuVO) in South Ossetia will take part in the large-scale international educational action “Victory Dictation” on the events of the Great Patriotic War.

More than 1.5 thousand people will participate in the action. Among them: servicemen of the Southern Military District, members of their families, civilian specialists of the Russian military base, as well as members of the All-Russian children’s and youth military-patriotic public movement “Yunarmiya”.

The action will be held at specially prepared sites and classrooms, as well as at the Dzartsemi training ground. The Victory Dictation includes two options, 25 questions each. The response time is 45 minutes. The questions are multifaceted: you need, for example, to name the author of a poem dedicated to the war, based on the above passage, name a city, event or participant in hostilities. Some questions are related to feature films and monuments dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.

The main goal of the event is to preserve historical memory, increase the level of historical literacy of society, and encourage the study of the history of the Great Patriotic War.

For reference:

Anyone can participate in the “Victory Dictation” in person or online, absolutely free of charge and on a voluntary basis. To test your knowledge, you need to register on the official website “dictationpobedy.rf”. There you can also take practice tests from the creators of the dictation. The organizers also recommend using the materials of the Russian Historical Society for the preparation.
