Servicemen of the Southern Military District (YuVO) and members of the Yunarmeyskiy movement will take part in the large-scale international educational action “Victory Dictation” on the events of the Great Patriotic War.

Servicemen of all categories will write a historical dictation at more than 130 interactive sites on the territory of 15 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and in the republics of Abkhazia, Armenia and South Ossetia. These sites are located in formations and military units, officers’ houses, at military bases.

More than 17 thousand people from the Southern Military District are going to write the dictation. Among them: officers, sergeants and soldiers of formations and military units of the district, cadets of the military police training center in North Ossetia, cadets of the Volga training center for engineering troops in the Volgograd region, Suvorov soldiers of the North Caucasian SVU in Vladikavkaz and the Presidential Cadet School in Sevastopol.

The Victory Dictation includes two options, 25 questions each. The response time is 45 minutes. The questions are multifaceted: you need, for example, to name the author of a poem dedicated to the war, based on the above passage, name a city, event or participant in hostilities. Some questions are related to feature films and monuments dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.

Writing a dictation at all sites will be organized in compliance with the necessary sanitary and epidemiological measures aimed at excluding the spread of infectious diseases.

“Victory Dictation” is dedicated to the 76th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and is intended to preserve the memory of the historical past of our country. Also, the purpose of the event is to increase the level of historical literacy of society, encourage the study of history. In 2021, more than 1 million people around the world will test their knowledge of the Great Patriotic War.

For reference:

Anyone can participate in the “Victory Dictation” in person or online, absolutely free of charge and on a voluntary basis. To test your knowledge, you need to register on the official website “dictationpobedy.rf”. There you can also take practice tests from the creators of the dictation.
