The new tram line will connect Entuziastov highway with the Kurskaya metro station and Kurskiy railway station.

Moscow has approved a project for a new tram line and complex improvement in Sergiy Radonezhskogo Street.

The tram line will connect the Entuziastov highway with the Kurskaya station of the Ring and Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya metro lines, the Kursk railway station and the Moscow Central Diameter (MCD-2). This was announced by the chairman Moskomarchitecture Juliana Knyazhevskaya.

According to the project, 690 meters of tramway tracks will be laid along the northern side of Sergiy Radonezhsky Street in the section from Andronievskaya Square to Rogozhskaya Zastava Square.

“As part of the approved project, a new tram line will appear, which will provide residents of Novogireev and Perov with a new route to the Kurskaya metro station. In addition, Sergiy Radonezhsky Street will be reconstructed: additional pedestrian crossings and traffic lights will be created, and pedestrian routes will be equipped. Citizens will be able to comfortably get to the main points of attraction thanks to the organization of a walking route along Sergiy Radonezhsky Street, ”said Yuliana Knyazhevskaya.

On the section from Andronievskaya Square to Rogozhskaya Zastava Square, the carriageway is being reconstructed: there will be three to five lanes for car traffic towards the center, and three to four lanes from the center. In addition, there will be a dividing strip and a barrier fence. During the improvement, the green lane separating the pedestrian zone from the carriageway will be preserved. Specialists will plant additional trees and shrubs.
