In Transbaikalia, with the participation of the Yunarmeys from the regional branch of the All-Russian military-patriotic movement Yunarmiya, the annual action “St. George’s Ribbon” has started.

Thus, within the framework of the action, the youth soldiers of the Patriots of Transbaikalia detachment will distribute more than five thousand St. George ribbons on the streets of Chita from May 1 to May 9.
The action is held under the slogans: “Tie. If you remember! “

According to the organizers, the main goal of the action is to strive at all costs not to let the new generations forget who and at what cost won the most terrible war in the history of mankind, whose heirs we remain, what and whom we should be proud of, whom to remember.

Today the action “St. George’s Ribbon” is one of the most supported initiatives in society related to the celebration of Victory Day. Over 100 Yunarmeys take part in the event.

For reference: for the first time the action “St. George’s Ribbon” started in 2005 for the 60th anniversary of the Great Victory. Since then, the action has become traditional and is held annually at the expense of public organizations, enterprises and the state budget.

The St. George ribbon in appearance and color combination corresponds to the ribbon, which is covered with the order block for the medal “For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.” The ribbons distributed within the framework of this promotion are called St. George ribbons. The Ribbon of St. George appeared during the reign of Empress Catherine II along with the Order of St. George, the highest military award of the Russian Empire.
