Servicemen of a separate rocket artillery formation of the Eastern Military District (VVO) are creating a new art object as part of the Katyusha project in Ussuriysk.

On the eve of the celebration of the 76th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, servicemen, together with patrons of art, are creating an art object in front of the House of Officers. It is a graffiti that will decorate a residential building with the image of a girl in a tunic against the background of a BM – 13 Katyusha combat vehicle.

The opening ceremony will take place on May 6 at the site in front of the art – graffiti. It will be attended by the command of the district, the commander of a separate rocket artillery unit of the Air Defense Forces of the Guard, Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Ilyin, Chairman of the Council of War Veterans Tyurin, veteran of the Great Patriotic War Novikov, as well as representatives of the administration, residents and guests of the city.

The girl against the background of “Katyusha” is a collective image of the participants in the events of 1941-1945. The project embodies the end of the Great Patriotic War and the onset of the long-awaited peace.

The working group on the creation of the art object included junior sergeant Natalya Filatova, an artist-designer from Vladivostok Sergey Motofanov and an expert in the field of urban planning Alexander Kirilyuk from a separate unit.
