In the Central House of “YUNARMIA” the first “Youth Festival of Choreographic Art” was held. The event was timed to coincide with the International Dance Day. The holiday was initiated in 1982 by the UNESCO International Dance Council. This date was proposed by the teacher and choreographer Pyotr Gusev in memory of the French choreographer, theorist and reformer of ballet Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810), who was born on that day, who went down in history as the “father of modern ballet”.

Several hundred young soldiers came to the Festival – these are solo performers, as well as members of collectives from Moscow and the Moscow region. Previously, they passed a rigorous selection process that lasted more than a month. In order to get to the gala concert, you had to send a video with your number. And then the jury decided who would come to the General Headquarters for the first “Youth Festival of Choreographic Art”. In total, about 1000 Yunarmeys took part in the qualifying round.

“We try to organize various events for the Young Army members – these are sports games, intellectual quizzes and such creative dance festivals. Each member of the Movement can express himself the way he wants. We are opening “windows of opportunity” for the younger generation. And in this case, we are not talking about competitions, but about the development of creative potential, communication with like-minded people and the emergence of real friendship. And this is the main result of such festivals! – emphasized the head of the General Staff of UNARMIA, three-time world champion, seven-time European champion, Olympic silver medalist Nikita Nagorny.

The winners were selected in 7 nominations: classical dance, folk dance, modern and pop choreography, children’s dance, folk-stylized dance, sports dance and solo performance.

The jury consisted of leading teachers of children’s music and art schools, teachers of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions, honored art workers of Russia, members of the YUNARMIA movement.

According to the results of performances in the category “classical dance” the collective of the ballet studio “Zhete” won. In the nomination “folk dance” the performance of the collective “Cossack dance” was noted. In the nominations “modern choreography” and “pop choreography”, the number “Nobody but us” of the Yunarmeysky detachment “Kantemirovets” was recognized as the best. In the nomination “folk-stylized dance” the first place went to the choreographic studio “Serpantin”, and in the category “children’s dance” the victory was celebrated by the group “Les points” with the number “Hours”. In the nomination “sports dance” the number of the group “Leader” was noted. The best performance in the “solo performance” category was performed by Maria Prigodich from the Maryina Roshcha school.

“I am very proud of this victory. This is a great recognition for me. I competed with the best teams in Moscow and the region. Of course, I was worried, but I was able to pull myself together and show my best side, ”the winner shared her impressions.

The organizers of the Festival hope that it will become a good tradition and are going to hold it next year, but on a federal scale.

Recall that the All-Russian youth military-patriotic movement “UNARMIA” was created in 2016 at the initiative of the Ministry of Defense and with the support of the President of Russia. Now in its ranks there are more than 800,000 participants – the most daring, the most courageous, the most initiative guys. The main task of the movement is patriotic education, as well as the physical, intellectual and social development of young people.
