The bridge will be 460 meters long.
The main structures of the metro bridge across the Likova River on the section of the extension of the Solntsevskaya metro line are 99 percent ready, said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction Andrey Bochkarev.
“As part of the construction of a metro bridge across the Likova River on the section of the extension of the Solntsevskaya metro line to Vnukovo airport, monolithic work has been completed. The readiness of the main structures of the 460-meter metro bridge is estimated at 99 percent, ”the deputy mayor said.
The bridge is being built on the stretch between the future Pykhtino and Vnukovo stations.
“At the moment, all 23 supports of the bridge have been erected, concreting of all 22 spans has also been completed – this is more than 689 tons of reinforcement, 4100 cubic meters of concrete. Now work has begun on the construction of expansion joints between the spans, ”added Andrei Bochkarev.
The decision to extend the Solntsevskaya line from Rasskazovka to Vnukovo airport was made in 2017. The construction of a new 4.9-kilometer metro section with two stations – Pykhtino and Vnukovo – began in October 2019. The construction of two single-track tunnels with a diameter of six meters from Rasskazovka to Pykhtin is planned to begin in the second quarter of this year.
Thanks to the extension of the line, Vnukovo will become the first airport in the Moscow region with its own metro station. Also, the new section of the Solntsevskaya metro line will improve the transport infrastructure in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative areas and reduce the traffic load. On a trip to the city center from Vnukovo airport and settlements of the Novomoskovsk administrative district, residents will spend 15–20 minutes less.
