In the library of the branch of the Military Academy of Logistics in Omsk, a documentary-historical composition dedicated to the Victory Day was presented for the cadets of the branch.
During the event, it was told about the great feat of the soldiers of the Brest Fortress. Thanks to the selfless actions of the garrison, the fortress managed to hold out for several weeks, deep behind enemy lines, without food supplies, with a minimum amount of ammunition, under continuous attacks and bombing by the Nazis. The feat of Major Petr Mikhailovich Gavrilov, commander of the 44th Infantry Regiment, was especially noted.
Genuine interest was shown in the story of the courage of the Podolsk cadets.
The listeners were greatly impressed by the story of the withdrawal of more than 200 refugees from the Jewish ghetto – women, old people, children from the deep German rear to Soviet territory, which became known only thanks to an accidental find. Inna Gerasimova, the director of the Holocaust Museum in Minsk, found the report of the soldier Kiselev, which he sent to the headquarters of the partisan movement after leaving the encirclement. A little later, the documentary “Kiselev’s List” was filmed, where the story is told in the words of those who survived these events.
During the event, video materials of the TV channels “Russia”, “Zvezda”, “History”, as well as musical compositions by D. Maidanov, A. Rosenbaum and others were used.
The event was prepared and conducted by: librarian Natalya Kimovna Naumenko, leading bibliographer Natalya Dmitrievna Kolmakova and leading bibliographer Anzhelika Nikolaevna Khamovich.
