By the end of 2021, the Airborne Forces will receive more than 13 thousand modern sets of landing equipment and parachute systems.

Improvement and modernization of weapons, military and special equipment in the Airborne Forces requires the development and implementation of new means of landing.

For new equipment (BMD-4M airborne combat vehicle and BTR-MDM Rakushka multipurpose armored personnel carrier), PBS-950U and PBS-955 parachute-strap-down systems have been created, intended for parachute landing from VTA aircraft with personnel located inside the vehicle. By the end of the year, it is planned to provide two more airborne battalions on the BMD-4M with new landing equipment.

In addition, a parachute cargo system will be adopted for the landing of cargo with a flight weight of up to 1,500 kg from military transport aircraft of the Il-76 type.

In parallel with this, the development of guided cargo parachute systems of various carrying capacities is underway for parachute landing of cargo to a designated area with high accuracy.
