Students of the University of Stepanakert and servicemen of the Center for Humanitarian Response of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh took part in the action “Dictation of Victory”.
“Our today’s action was dedicated to the anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The aim was to stimulate the interest of the local population to study the themes of the Great Patriotic War. All participants showed great interest in the event and showed excellent results, ”said Captain Ivan Sergeev, officer of the Humanitarian Response Center. “First of all, we specially selected questions so that they would be consonant with the historical memory of the local population, tried to take into account the Heroes of the Great Patriotic War – natives of Nagorno-Karabakh, and devote some of the questions to them,” he added.
About 50 2nd year students, the teaching staff of the university, as well as 10 military personnel of the Russian peacekeeping contingent took part in writing the dictation.
“Thanks to interaction with the Russian peacekeeping forces, we accepted the proposal to hold the Victory Dictation, because we believe that this is our common memory, our common history,” said Vidik Iromishyan, Vice-Rector of Stepanakert University. “The younger generation is obliged to know about our heroes, about our Victory, to know their history,” he added.
At the end of the event, in addition to writing a dictation, students and teachers read lines of poems about the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, watched documentary military newsreels, and also talked about their relatives who died on the battlefields in 1941-1945.
In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10 this year. a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh have been declared.
A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation has been deployed to control the ceasefire and military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The core of the Russian contingent is made up of units of the 15th separate motorized rifle brigade (peacekeeping) of the Central Military District.
