An ice hockey tournament called “Victory Cup”, dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people over fascism in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, has begun in the Northern Fleet.

The opening ceremony of the tournament took place in the city of Severomorsk on the ice arena of the Northern Fleet under the leadership of the Commander of the Fleet, Hero of Russia, Admiral Alexander Moiseev.

Four teams of the Northern Military Hockey League take part in the tournament: K-21 of the Northern Fleet Headquarters and Directorate, Albatross of the Kola Flotilla of Diverse Forces, Thunderstorm of the Air Force and Air Defense Army and Rescuer of the Search and Rescue Directorate. The tournament has age restrictions – all hockey players are over 43 years old.

The four teams of the tournament also included representatives of other SVHL teams of a suitable age category.

In the first game of the tournament, the K-21 fleet headquarters team defeated the Rescuer with a score of 4: 3.

The tournament will run until May 7. The games will be played in a circular system, i.e. all teams will play with each other, and the winner will be determined by points and the difference between goals scored and missed.
