Employees of the Military Commissariats of the Amur Region, in cooperation with the regional military commissariats, provide comprehensive targeted assistance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
On the eve of the celebration of the 76th anniversary of the Great Victory and the anniversary of the end of the battle near Moscow, employees of the Military Commissariat of the Amur Region visited the veteran of the Great Patriotic War Ivan Danilovich Yakovenko and his wife, who live in the city of Raichikhinsk, Amur Region. Ivan Danilovich Yakovenko is the last of the surviving veterans of the Great Patriotic War in the Far Eastern Federal District who took part in the Battle of Moscow.
In a solemn atmosphere, the Military Commissioner of the Amur Region Vladimir Ageev, together with the head of the city of Raichikhinsk, presented Ivan Danilovich with well-deserved medals, presented a social set. At the end of the ceremony, the guests, on behalf of all employees of the Military Commissariats of the Amur Region and on their own behalf, congratulated the veteran on Victory Day and wished him health and long life.
The war found Ivan Danilovich as a 17-year-old machine operator from the village of Verkhnebeloe, Romnensky district, Amur region. The first battle took place in the village of Krasnoe, Leningrad Region. And then his unit was transferred to Moscow. In the village of Rozhkovo, they held the defense for several months, until the very offensive. Ivan Danilovich took part in the liberation of Mozhaisk, Yelnya, Velikiye Luki, as well as Latvia, Estonia, Belarus. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star, the Patriotic War, medals “For the Defense of Moscow”, “For Victory over Germany.” According to Ivan Danilovich: “It was very scary, very much. But we boldly went into battle. I still often see dreams where I go hand-to-hand with a bayonet and beat these fascists. “
For each veteran living in the garrisons, officials of military units and military registration and enlistment offices are assigned, who regularly call, visit and help veterans. Servicemen deliver food and medical kits to veterans, and medical workers check their health. Veterans living in the private sector are provided with assistance in housekeeping, repair and maintenance of order on the territory.
