On the eve of Victory Day, according to a long-term tradition, the military sailors of Kamchatka will honor the memory of those killed in the defense of the Fatherland.

Veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the Armed Forces, servicemen of the Troops and Forces in the North-East of Russia, as well as representatives of the administration and the Legislative Assembly of the Kamchatka Territory, on one of the ships of the formation of the protection of the water region will go to sea, where a mourning rally. Participants of the commemorative event will lay a wreath and flowers on the water in memory of the dead Pacific sailors.

Military honors will be given to sailors who died during combat trawling off the Kamchatka coast. The ship will make the transition to the area where in October 1945 there was a tragedy with the minesweepers TSh-610 and TSh-523. The ships that were part of the detachment clearing minefields in Avacha Bay were blown up and sank. The tragedy killed 35 people. At the point of death of the ships, a wreath and a sailor’s cap will be lowered into the water.
