Over 40 thousand letters to veterans of the Great Patriotic War were written by servicemen of formations and military units of the Central Military District (CVD), who took part in the patriotic action “Victory Mail”, organized by the communications department of the Central Military District. The head of communications of the Central Military District, Major General Gennady Tuchin, told the journalists about this.
“More than 40 thousand letters to the front-line soldiers were written by servicemen of formations and military units of the Central Military District, stationed in the Urals, Siberia, the Volga region, as well as in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan,” said Major General Gennady Tuchin.
He added that the action will last until May 8, and in addition to letters from the military, the signalmen of the Central Military District will also transmit over 10 thousand letters from the youth army and schoolchildren, delivering them to the veterans at the addresses of their residence.
The press service of the Central Military District clarified that servicemen, including those dressed in the uniform of front-line postmen: in breeches, tunics, garrison caps and chrome boots, will deliver the correspondence to the veterans.
