“High-quality Internet is essential for effective learning and a comfortable life. At present, the free city Wi-Fi network is available in 166 dormitories of 33 Moscow universities. On average, 60-70 thousand students use the city Wi-Fi network in dormitories per month, ”said the head of the“ Citywide Wi-Fi ”project in the Moscow Department of Information Technologies.
Now free Wi-Fi can be used by students living in hostels at the following addresses:
– Baltiyskaya street, building 10, building 2 and Novopeschanaya street, building 15a (Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation);
– Kochnovskiy proezd, house 7, building 1 and Kochnovskiy proezd, building 7, building 2 (Moscow Automobile and Highway State Technical University).
Free Wi-Fi appeared in student dormitories in Moscow in 2015. Access points are established on the basis of applications from educational institutions. In the past year, the throughput of wireless communication channels in a number of hostels has doubled. This allowed students to use even faster free Internet to search for educational materials, take online courses, communicate with teachers and loved ones.
In total, more than 20 thousand points of access to the city Wi-Fi network operate in the capital. In addition to student dormitories, free wireless Internet is available in parks, cultural and sports institutions, as well as on the streets of Moscow within the Garden and Third Transport Ring.
You can find out which places are connected to Wi-Fi on a special interactive mapthe mos.ru portal.
A single Wi-Fi space allows you to use wireless Internet while moving around the city without re-authorization. You need to re-authorize once every three months in accordance with the requirement of the law.
