Preventive work with convicts, during which honored artists act as mentors for those who have stumbled, is organized within the framework of an agreement with the Academic Drama Theater named after M.Yu. Lermontov.

According to the psychologists of the Penitentiary Institute and the stage attendants, such work is most effective in relation to minors.

One of the activities of the jointly developed plan was a master class in acting, which was held for the children by Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Svetlana Kolganova.

Svetlana invited the children to take part in exercises from acting practices that allow them to control themselves and easily react to any situations, teach them not to be shy of the surrounding attention and feel more confident in everyday life.

It should be noted that the joint work of psychologists from the Penitentiary Institute and theater workers with convicts also includes regular visits to performances, organization of excursions around the theater museum and behind the scenes, which provide an opportunity to see the theater from the inside, get to know it better, get to know your favorite artists, and learn more about their fates.

Carrying out such events has a positive effect on relieving emotional stress and creating trusting relationships between convicts and society, developing the level of culture and creative potential, replenishing vocabulary and familiarizing with literary masterpieces.
