Today, the All-Army stage of the Army Reserve-2021 competition for food service specialists has started at the training complex of the branch of the Military Academy of MTO “Red Field” near Saratov.
The opening ceremony was attended by the head of the resource support department of the Central Military District, Major General Dmitry Pyatunin, military chefs representing the military districts, types and branches of the Armed Forces of the RF Armed Forces. The competition began with the opening ceremony and the parade of the participants in the competition.
On the first day, the cooks competed in the accuracy of shooting from AK-74 assault rifles and PM pistols. At the next stage, chefs and bakers will show their skills by preparing dishes in stationary and field conditions. They will prepare dishes according to the established menu and an arbitrary program, bake bread, loaf, small-piece pastries using PP-40 portable stoves, KP-20 portable kitchens and HPA-0.4 automobile bakery.
The awards ceremony for the winners of the competition will take place on June 5. The best military chefs will represent Russia at the Field Kitchen international competition to be held in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The process of organizing meals in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation does not stand still. In order to develop the technical means of the food service and bring them to modern requirements, to increase the mobility of support units until 2025, the Office (Food) of the Department of Resource Support of the Ministry of Defense of Russia plans to carry out work on the modernization and robotization of technical equipment, as well as the replacement of all trailed kitchens with automobile ones. Currently, within the framework of the state defense order, work has been completed on the creation of a family of Arctic technical means of food service and developed: Arctic kitchen KA-250 / 30PM; Arctic bakery HPA-500 / 30PM; arctic tank TsVA-10 / 30PM; an economic and storage module (trailer-warehouse). All this equipment is located on the basis of multi-link tracked all-terrain vehicles DP-30 “Vityaz”. They are designed for movement in difficult climatic conditions of the Far North, Siberia, the Far East, Arctic and Antarctic on soils with low bearing capacity. For example, such as swamps, snowy virgin lands, off-road terrain, rugged wooded areas at ambient temperatures from minus to plus 50 degrees Celsius. In 2020, within the framework of the state defense order, the troops were supplied with three samples of technical means of food service in the Arctic version, including: an arctic kitchen KA-250, an arctic bakery HPA-500 and an arctic water tank TsVA-10.
As regards the improvement of the technical means of the food service, the department for the development and modernization of the food service completed work on the creation of a mobile food point MPP-500. It is designed to organize daily three-time hot meals for subunits of up to 500 people in areas of temporary or permanent deployment of troops, in the field at developed and undeveloped places where troops are stationed.
A new development was also presented – an autonomous mobile food station “AMPP-150”, which is supposed to be used to provide the Armed Forces, as a highly efficient mobile means of transporting and storing food, preparing, transporting, distributing and eating food. As part of this work: the conditions for food placement, storage and preparation of hot food in the field have been optimized; improved food intake conditions in the field; thermal and technological equipment was modernized.
These are two multi-axle KAMAZ vehicles in the back of one of which there is equipment for storing and cooking food, and in the body with a variable volume of the second there is a mobile dining room in which 50 people are seated at the same time. The machines are connected to each other due to which we get a “stationary” canteen in the field. At the same time, the time for its deployment and folding takes no more than an hour. Thanks to this, we can not only quickly feed the personnel, but also follow their progress in a mobile manner.
