The summer training period began at the Russian military base in Abkhazia.
Classes with the personnel of combined arms and special units of the formation under the updated program of combat training started in mountain-wooded, flat and coastal terrain at once at six training grounds in the district in Abkhazia, Krasnodar Territory, Astrakhan and Volgograd regions.
During the summer period of training, the military personnel of the base will conduct more than 1000 fire training exercises, exercises on the combat coordination of squads, platoons and companies, as well as live firing at ground and sea targets from T-72B3 tanks, Grad multiple launch rocket systems, artillery guns, 120-mm mortars, 122-mm D-30 howitzers and small arms.
More than 200 tactical exercises are planned to be devoted to the combat coordination of units during field exits, where servicemen will fulfill the standards for marching, tactical, engineering and fire training. At least 50% of training sessions will take place at night or in low visibility conditions.
Military drivers and driver-mechanics, under the guidance of experienced instructors, will master the features of driving armored vehicles and army trucks on roads with various surfaces, including along mountain river beds, serpentines, as well as areas with viscous soil.
Servicemen of artillery, anti-aircraft missile units, RCB protection, communications, engineering troops will take part in the camp training.
The main efforts will be directed to the use of unmanned aerial aircraft forces and the fight against aircraft drones.
In total, during the summer period of training, the servicemen of the Russian military base in Abkhazia will use up more than 1 million ammunition of various types and over 100 tons of fuel and lubricants. Up to 1000 units of military equipment will be simultaneously involved in the educational process.
