The exposition, presented in the large exhibition hall of the Palace of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, covers the life and work of the eminent photographer Ivan Barshchevsky. The exhibition describes in detail the Rostov-Yaroslavl period, long-term activity in Smolensk and the last stage of life associated with Moscow and the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve.

The exhibits of the photographer, rare documents about his successes and achievements and, of course, photographs of architecture, which are included in the golden fund of Russian photography, are presented.

Russian museums often turned to the legacy of Ivan Barshchevsky, but the comprehensive range of his scientific and creative interests has not yet been presented to the general public. The Kolomenskoye exposition is trying to fix this.
