Today, June 1, is the International Children’s Day, which aims to draw public attention to the protection of the rights, health and life of children. Traditionally, events for children are held on this day in all regions of the country.
In Kabardino-Balkaria, employees of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations organized comprehensive preventive measures in the republican children’s rehabilitation center.
Employees of the emergency department held talks on the rules of life safety and safe outdoor recreation. The children were told how dangerous a child’s prank with fire is and how to call the Ministry of Emergency Situations by phone 101 in case of trouble.
Rescuers explained to the children the basic rules for providing first aid to victims of various injuries and how to examine the victim. The simulator showed how to properly carry out cardiopulmonary resuscitation, stop bleeding, apply splints and other actions aimed at saving a person. They familiarized with the types of mechanical injuries (bruises, fractures), showed how to apply tourniquets, bandages and splints.
Employees of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Tula Region arrived on a visit to the Tula Social and Rehabilitation Center for Minors No. 1 and told its pupils about the fire safety rules.
During entertaining contests and quizzes, children learned about the causes and culprits of the fires. The wards of the center actively answered the questions of the rescuers about their knowledge of fire safety techniques and compliance with fire requirements. The guys learned how to properly evacuate from the smoky premises, tried to work with a fire extinguisher. The kids were happy to portray a rescuer, trying on a firefighter’s combat clothes, studied the firefighter and rescue tool, and even went to the rescue boat.
The children were happy to guess fire-fighting riddles and demonstrated their knowledge to the representatives of the department – they unmistakably named the phone numbers for calling rescuers and other emergency services. The pupils of the center promised the rescuers always and everywhere to comply with the fire safety requirements and never play with fire, and the older children promised to teach the knowledge gained today to their younger comrades.
In the Leningrad Region, employees of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia conduct excursions for children in fire departments. The children were told about the purpose and equipment of the fire truck. They were shown the device of each device and even shown a knapsack fire extinguisher and a gas cutter in operation. And, of course, the kids were able to sit behind the wheel of a fire truck and feel like real firefighters.
Teaching children to be safe in the home is a top priority for adults. On June 1, in honor of the International Children’s Day, similar events with the participation of EMERCOM employees are held throughout the country.
