The exhibition was presented by the Center for Labor Adaptation of Correctional Colony No. 1 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Republic of Tyva, whose products are in high demand in the republic’s market.

A significant part of these goods are products of various production sites of the Centers for Labor Adaptation of convicts: forged products, household utensils, sets of country furniture, furniture sets in a yurt, yurt frames, sawmilling products, souvenirs, paintings, tables for games – shire, backgammon, chess sets, garments, shoes, and more.

The government group that visited the exhibition, represented by the Chairman of the Supreme Khural (parliament) of the Republic of Tuva Kan-ool Dava, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ayan Mongush and the head of the economic department of the Government of the Republic of Tuva, Radiy Kuular, assessed the quality of the products. The working group also thanked the administration of the institution for the created conditions that give convicts the opportunity to learn and acquire work skills while serving their sentence, which will undoubtedly have a positive effect on their post-penitentiary adaptation.

“By holding exhibitions, we have the opportunity to visually demonstrate the products manufactured in the penitentiary institutions of the republic, thereby increasing the market for its implementation. By increasing the demand for manufactured products, we get the opportunity to create additional jobs, thereby increasing the number of convicts involved in paid work, ”said Viktor Baiyr-ool, chief engineer of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Tyva Republic.
