In the capital, the amount of subsidies for the purchase of cars for taxis and car sharing has been increased. The corresponding decree was signed by Sergei Sobyanin. Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport Maxim Liksutov said that on May 28, a record was recorded: more than 1.1 million trips by taxi cars per day.

The capital taxi is one of the most convenient and affordable in the world. Since 2010, the number of passengers has grown 22 times: 10 years ago, only 45 thousand people a day used a taxi, and now over one million. The average delivery time in the city is about four minutes. During peak hours – no more than seven minutes.

In 2011, one car had five trips a day, today it is 15-17. Now there are about 80 thousand passenger taxis operating in the city with permits issued by the Government of Moscow and the Government of the Moscow Region.

Since 2012, the Moscow Government has been paying subsidies to reimburse part of the cost of paying finance lease (leasing) of passenger cars intended for taxis. Since 2015, the city has been helping carriers who buy cars on credit, as well as young companies that have been operating for no more than two years.

Over the past nine years, taxi companies have received subsidies in the amount of 1.1 billion rubles. This money compensated them for part of the cost of purchasing over 46 thousand cars. Within the framework of the program, 70 percent of the capital’s passenger taxi fleet was renewed. The Moscow taxi company today is the youngest in Europe. The average age of a taxi car is 2.7 years.

In 2017, car-sharing operators received the same support measures. For three years, the amount of subsidies given to them amounted to 241.3 million rubles. This made it possible to compensate for part of the cost of purchasing more than 12 thousand cars (almost 50 percent of the car-sharing fleet).

It was decided to expand the support program for taxi and car-sharing companies; in 2021, changes were made to it. For example, the marginal cost of a car purchased under a lease agreement or on credit was increased by a third – from 1.5 to two million rubles. This price corresponds to the average price of a new car made in the country. The Russian assembly is a prerequisite for obtaining state support.

Another change concerns the purchase of an electric car – here the amount of the subsidy will be doubled compared to the subsidy for the purchase of a car with an internal combustion engine. The cost of an electric car should not exceed four million rubles. The measure will help popularize electric transport in the taxi transport system, especially car sharing.

They also established uniform requirements for the ecological class of the purchased vehicles – not lower than Euro-4. Previously, it was allowed to buy taxi cars of the ecological class “Euro-3”. Thanks to this measure, the ecology will improve in the city.

Added the requirement to provide a policy of compulsory civil liability insurance, where you need to indicate the purpose of using a car (taxi and car sharing). The Moscow Department of Transport and the Development of Road Transport Infrastructure will request the document independently (without the participation of companies – recipients of subsidies) within the framework of interdepartmental interaction.

In addition, the program added the requirement to provide notification of the absence of arrears in fines and enforcement proceedings from the FSSP of Russia.

The support program is expected to help purchase about 20,000 taxis and 10,000 carsharing vehicles this year. The total amount of subsidies will be over 280 million rubles. The program will help companies continue to renew their fleet of cars, keeping it at the level of the youngest in Europe.

Acceptance of applications for subsidies will begin in July this year.
