Servicemen of the formation of surface ships of the Caspian Flotilla (CFL) celebrate the 38th anniversary of its foundation.

Just a year ago, the process of transferring the headquarters and management of the flotilla and its main forces from Astrakhan to a new basing area in Dagestan was completed. The transfer of formations was carried out simultaneously with the implementation of the combat training plan. Despite all the difficulties of the transition period associated with relocation, the flotilla successfully completed the academic year, showing high maritime and field training during the Kavkaz-2020 command and control school. A high pace in combat training activities was set in 2021.

The bases in Makhachkala and Kaspiysk are ice-free harbors protected from natural influences, equipped with the most modern infrastructure and equipped with the latest technologies.

The flotilla got the opportunity of direct access to the naval ranges of the central part of the sea for full-fledged combat training of naval groupings at sea, marines, and a coastal missile battalion. On the territory of Dagestan, at the Adanak mountain range, Scorpion, Zelenomorsk and Turali ranges, there are all conditions for improving field training, sea landing and airborne training of coastal troops.

But no matter how perfect the technical equipment of the forces (troops) is, the main driving force of the process of combat training has been and remains people, real professionals in their field. The Caspian sailors are an example of honest and selfless service to the Motherland on the southern maritime borders.

In Dagestan, active work continues to provide permanent and service housing for CFL servicemen. More than 500 families of servicemen of the flotilla live in new modern residential complexes. Also, military builders are working on the construction of a school for 120 students, a decision has been made to build a naval hospital.
