The next meeting in the cinema lecture hall of the Gogol House will be dedicated to a feature film about the first days of the war “Immortal Garrison”(1956). It was filmed by Zakhar Agranenko and Eduard Tisse based on a script by Konstantin Simonov.

The film tells about the defense of Brest – a peaceful, cozy city, whose life is scattered to pieces along with the first explosion that took an unfinished book off the table. In the center of the plot are soldiers and officers who turned out to be guilty of having survived, and on whose biography the trail of captivity remained forever.

Participants will discuss the film, talk about trench truth, lieutenant prose and immortal feat. Lecturer – Svetlana Panchenko, head of the scientific and methodological department of the Gogol House.
