On June 1, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation A.V. Grushko held political consultations with Director of the Department for Political Affairs and Security of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy P. Ferrara.

During the talks, the parties substantively considered the most pressing issues on the agenda of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields. Separately, issues related to the coordination of efforts to overcome the consequences of the spread of the new coronavirus infection were discussed.

A wide range of international topics has been extensively discussed. The focus was on the themes of Russia’s relations with the European Union and NATO, interaction within the framework of multilateral European organizations – the OSCE and the Council of Europe.

The determination of the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries to further maintain and develop constructive contacts was confirmed.
