Today, the Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne Command School trains cadets under the programs of higher, secondary, additional professional education in the interests of the services and combat arms of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. It is a large scientific center, where training is conducted by teachers with combat experience, including 32 doctors and 179 candidates of sciences, 54 associate professors of departments.

Along with the training of cadets for the Armed Forces of Russia, the school at a special faculty trains foreign military personnel. At present, students from more than 25 countries are taking courses here. Among them are military personnel from the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and far abroad.

In 2020 alone, 460 lieutenants graduated from the walls of the school, and 97 graduates received a diploma with honors. In addition, lieutenant shoulder straps were awarded to 58 officers of foreign countries of the near and far abroad, who successfully graduated from the special faculty. Among the graduates there are 14 masters of sports, 237 candidates for masters of sports, the rest have categories in various sports.

Over the years of its existence, the school has graduated more than 50 thousand commanders who, with their military service, made an invaluable contribution to the history of the Red Army, the Soviet Union and the history of the military glory of the Russian Federation. Its graduates include 53 Heroes of the Soviet Union and 83 Heroes of the Russian Federation.

The solemn event was attended by representatives of the Ryazan Region administration, the central bodies of the military command of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the command of the school, the heads of the RGVVDKU, who headed the educational institution; representatives of state authorities, local self-government, veterans and public organizations of the city of Ryazan.
