The planning project for the territory of microdistricts 15b-16b of the Bogorodskoye district became the winner prestigious annual international UDAD (Urban Design & Architecture Design) Awards in the category “Concept of urban planning”. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction Andrey Bochkarev.

“The renovation project in the metropolitan area Bogorodskoye received the prestigious international UDAD Awards – such a high assessment from the professional community suggests that the principles laid down in the Moscow housing renovation program fully meet international standards of sustainable development and the formation of a comfortable environment”, – noted Andrey Bochkarev.

According to him, the area of ​​the projected territory is 41.62 hectares, and the proposed landscape-planning structure was formed taking into account the historical frame of the village that was located there earlier. The project also took into account the visibility zones of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Bogorodsky.

The living environment in microdistricts 15b-16b will be organized according to the quarterly principle, the space will be divided into inner courtyard and public space, and the concept of courtyards without cars is being implemented. In addition, a modern kindergarten, a school and a fitness center with a swimming pool will be built in the district.

As noted by the chief architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov, the capital’s renovation program not only improves the living conditions of Muscovites, but also makes the city more convenient for living and working. “I am very glad that the capital of Russia was able to declare itself at one of the most prestigious international competitions, and our colleagues – to stand on a par with world-renowned architects. This victory has shown once again that we are moving in the right direction, ”he concluded.

“We are proud that the jury of the international UDAD award highly appreciated our approach to the planning of the territory,” said Dina Sattarova, director of the State Autonomous Institution “NI and PI Gradplan of the City of Moscow”. “The institute’s specialists have proposed a design solution that will allow creating a modern, rich, comfortable and at the same time balanced urban environment in the renovation quarters.”

As part of the project, the area will be landscaped and landscaped, and new pedestrian and bicycle paths will appear there. Cycling routes will pass along 1st Myasnikovskaya and Millionnaya streets with an exit to Krasnobogatyrskaya street, as well as along Kuznetsovskaya, 3rd Grazhdanskaya, Igralnaya and a new projected street.

There are also plans to make public transport more accessible to residents – new bus routes and stops will appear in microdistricts, reconstruction of the existing tramway is provided.
