Electricity exports from Russia in January – May 2021 doubled compared to the same period last year, to 8.8 billion kWh. This is stated in the materials of the Central Dispatch Administration (CDU) of the Fuel and Energy Complex.
Electricity supplies for export in May 2021 increased 2.4 times in annual terms and reached 1.7 billion kWh.
According to the Central Dispatch Office of the Fuel and Energy Complex, Russia has imported 0.5 billion kWh of electricity since the beginning of the year.
Electricity production in Russia in the period from January to May 2021 increased by 5.6% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 482.9 billion kWh.
Energy consumption in January – May 2021 increased in annual terms by 4.7%, to 473.1 billion kWh.
For five months of 2021, electricity generation in the UES of Russia amounted to 475.7 billion kWh, which is 5.8% more than a year earlier.
At the same time, in May, according to the Central Dispatch Office of the Fuel and Energy Complex, the production volume reached 84.8 billion kWh (+ 8.3% compared to May 2020), and the consumption volume reached 83.2 billion kWh (+7.3 %).
Coal production in Russia in May 2021 increased year-on-year by 10.7% and reached 34.38 million tons. Since the beginning of the year, this figure has increased by 9.3% to 178.44 million tons.
Supplies of Russian coal to the domestic market in the reporting period increased by 20.4% to 12.98 million tons. Coal exports in May increased by 12.5% to 19.27 million tons.
Since the beginning of the year, supplies to the domestic market have grown by 8.9% to 72.68 million tons, export supplies – by 12.3%, to 86.31 million tons.
The production of the largest coal companies in January – May 2021 amounted to: SUEK – 46.9 million tons of coal (an increase of 6%), Kuzbassrazrezugol Management Company (part of UMMC) – 14.8 million tons (-9.8%), HC SDS-Ugol – 8.1 million tons (+ 2%), Vostsibugol – 5.44 million tons (-10.6%), MC Yuzhny Kuzbass (part of Mechel) – 2, 6 million tons (-44.5%), Yakutugol holding company (part of Mechel) – 1.9 million tons (-25.3%).
Oil and gas condensate production in Russia in May 2021 increased by 11.2% compared to the same period a year earlier, to 44.2 million tons. At the same time, since the beginning of the year, Russian oil production has decreased by 6.3%, to 212.22 million tons.
According to international financial reporting standards, Rosneft increased oil production in May by 12.8%, to 16.45 million tons, and since the beginning of the year, it has decreased by 7.1%, to 78.1 million tons. Production of Lukoil in May increased by 12.6%, to 6.3 million tons, and since the beginning of the year has decreased by 7.7%, to 30.4 million tons. Surgutneftegaz in May increased production by 9.5%, to 4.6 million tons, since the beginning of the year – decreased by 9.9%, to 22.2 million tons. In May, Gazprom Neft produced 4.77 million tons, which is 6.7% higher than a year earlier; since the beginning of the year, the company’s production amounted to 23.3 million tons, which is 7% less on an annualized basis.
Production of Tatneft in May increased by 20.7%, to 2.45 million tons, and since the beginning of the year has decreased by 1.4%, to 11.1 million tons. Novatek produced 1.02 million tons of oil (an increase of 7.2%), since the beginning of the year production increased by 3.5% to 5 million tons. The operators of the production sharing agreement in May reduced oil and condensate production by 4.1%, to 1.15 million tons, and since the beginning of the year, this figure has decreased by 7.6%, to 5.7 million tons.
In January-May, Russia reduced oil exports by 13% – to 91.2 million tons compared to the same period last year, according to the Central Dispatch Office of the Fuel and Energy Complex. The country participates in the OPEC + agreement on the reduction of oil production, as a result of which supplies abroad are also reduced.
At the same time, in May, oil exports increased by 6% – up to 19.58 million tons.
Oil exports to non-CIS countries for five months decreased by 15.7% – to 85.36 million tons, and in May increased by 7.6%, to 18.65 million tons. The export of Russian oil to the near abroad since the beginning of the year has grown by 60.7% – up to 5.85 million tons. In May, this figure was 0.93 million tons (-17.5%).
Oil transit in January-May decreased by 3.2% to 7.5 million tons. In May, the figure fell by 21.8% and reached 1.44 million tons.
116.31 million tons of oil were supplied to the domestic market in January-May 2021, which is 2.1% less than a year earlier. In May, 23.35 million tons of oil were supplied to the domestic market (an increase of 6.7%).
The production of petroleum products in Russia in May 2021 increased by 9.2% compared to the same period last year – up to 23.046 million tons.
In general, in January – May of this year, the primary processing of crude oil in Russia decreased by 1.5% – to 114.58 million tons.
