Modernization of infrastructure, introduction of an advanced educational system based on modern information technologies – these and other areas are provided for by the development program of the International Children’s Center “Artek”, designed for the next five years. It was approved by the Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The new program provides for the completion of a large-scale reconstruction and modernization of Artek, which began in 2014. The main goal is to turn the children’s camp into a leading international educational recreation center. The total amount of federal funding for the program will amount to over 33.8 billion rubles.
In the next five years, the children’s center will develop in five areas – “Education”, “Personnel for” Artek “,” Territory of childhood “,” Cybersecurity “and” Promotion “. A detailed action plan has been developed for each of them.
Construction and reconstruction of 46 objects is planned within the framework of the “Territory of Childhood” direction. The largest of them is the Solnechny camp. It will open in 2024 and will be able to accommodate 1,000 schoolchildren per shift. Also, a center for innovative educational technologies will be built on its territory, which will unite a secondary school and additional education studios. A new road will connect the rest of the Artek camps. Its construction is also provided for in the new program. In addition, there are plans to complete the construction of a cinema and concert hall for 5.5 thousand seats, to reconstruct four swimming pools, a coastline and utilities.
In terms of the educational direction, it is planned to develop and introduce innovative training programs, create a universal platform for the Olympiad training of children on the basis of Artek, and develop cooperation with specialized departments of universities. As a result, the Artek secondary school should enter the top 100 rating of schools in Russia and become one of the best educational platforms in the country.
The fulfillment of these tasks is impossible without the involvement of highly qualified personnel. For them, a federal center for continuous professional development will be created in “Artek”, modern educational technologies will be introduced. Young talented teachers will be attracted through grants.
By 2025, “Artek” should become one of the best international platforms for the creation and implementation of innovative programs for general and additional education, as well as health improvement and recreation of children.
“Artek” was established in 1925 as a small summer tent camp. Gradually, it has grown into one of the largest children’s recreation complexes.
Since the fall of 2014, a global reconstruction began in Artek – the restructuring of all buildings, sites, the construction of new facilities. Today, nine children’s camps have already been repaired: Cypress, Lazurny, Lesnoy, Morskoy, Ozerny, Polevoy, Rechnoi, Khrustalny and Yantarny.
In 2016, the Artek school received a license for educational activities in the field of preschool, general and additional education. Training sessions in “Artek” are held not only at a school desk, but also in Crimean museums and parks, on the seashore and during excursions along the southern coast of Crimea.
