The next batch of the latest Kalashnikov AK-12 assault rifles entered service with the motorized rifle formation of the Amur combined arms formation of the Eastern Military District (VVO), stationed in the Amur Region.

The AK-12 assault rifle has a 5.45 mm caliber and was developed by the Kalashnikov concern within the framework of the Ratnik program, as an element of a promising complex for equipping servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces. It has a number of significant improvements that provide even greater combat effectiveness of the weapon, versatility of use, accuracy and accuracy of fire. The main features of the new weapon are the latest trigger system, a new ergonomic buttstock, a removable high-performance muzzle brake-compensator, a Picatinny rail on the receiver cover for mounting optical and night sights.

The Kalashnikov AK-12 assault rifle is a new generation weapon and is positioned as a platform on the basis of which it is planned to produce weapons of various calibers and for various purposes – both military and civil.
