An industrial testing ground for testing innovative technologies based on the fifth generation network will be created in the city.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Rostelecom President Mikhail Oseevsky at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum signed an Agreement on cooperation for the development of 5G / IMT-2020 fifth generation mobile radiotelephone networks in Moscow.

The document provides for cooperation in applied research, testing of prototypes and prototypes of solutions, services and services based on 5G.

In particular, it is assumed:

– to create a 5G industrial test site on the territory of Moscow;

– to develop perspective scenarios for the use of 5G / IMT-2020 technology in various sectors of the economy and urban economy;

– develop prototypes of digital services and services operating using 5G / IMT-2020 technology, as well as analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of their work.

Among the main tasks of the 5G industrial landfill is to promote the introduction of services based on the fifth generation communication network in the urban economy, to search for new business models, to test and approve digital products and services in real conditions.

On the basis of the test site, they plan to test artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, big data, the Internet of things and other technologies. In conditions close to real, they will test innovative solutions in various areas: medicine (robotization of hospitals, remote diagnostics and high-quality broadcasting, creation of a digital twin of hospitals), security (smart video analytics and biometrics, access control and management systems), transport and in other industries.

The implementation of activities under the agreement will be coordinated Moscow Department of Information Technologies.

Particular attention is paid to preparations for the launch of 5G networks in Moscow. Now in the capital there are 19 pilot zones of fifth-generation communication networks, which have been deployed by four of the largest operators. In 2020, the first 5G laboratory in Russia for solving urban problems was opened on the territory of VDNKh – a 5G demo center.
